I simply couldn’t live in New York City without Central Park. Even in the greatest city in the world, I need the refreshing oasis the park provides and the crisp air between its trees. Tomorrow is Earth Day, and it’s the perfect opportunity to make a difference for our city and our environment.
Meurice understands the importance of being eco-friendly. No, we didn’t just hang up an “Organic Cleaners!” sign in our windows when being green became trendy. We’ve been pioneering responsible cleaning for decades. We were one of the first cleaners in the nation to offer AquaCare wet cleaning, and we’re one of ten cleaners in New York to be recognized by the EPA for offering environmentally-preferable cleaning service (PDF link).
In honor of Earth Day 2011, Meurice will donate $1 per garment cleaned on Friday, April 22 to MillionTreesNYC, an organization committed to planting one million trees across the five boroughs in the next ten years. There’s only 4 weeks left in planting season, so every extra tree really counts, and you’ll play a part when you bring in cleaning on Earth Day.
